Comments:
We just saw _Gamers_ at Genghiscon - I haven't laughed so much for ages.
Bloody brilliant. Even my other half liked it, and he pretty much hates
all films.
We screened "The Gamers" at KapCon. Rather than have it playing continuously so people could just watch it in a spare moment (which was our original plan), we had a big sit down session at the end, so everyone could watch it. And they did - it was very popular, standing room only. Somehow, everyone had played in that D&D game earlier in their lives, and they all appreciated the jokes :)
ICON 27 was a huge success! We had a packed room with about
100 attendees. We also had people watching from outside the
room. The attendees were laughing so hard that the events
on either side of us were disturbed.
We saw The Gamers at Archon. It was the media highlight of
the weekend. Fantastic. I've played D&D since 1975 (yeee ikes)
and so much of the material hit way tooooooo close to home:):):)
Hysterical.
The demo DVD was a hit as well! We had it playing all day
at the registration desk for people to get excited about the
movie and that really worked well.
The screening went great! Everyone really seemed to enjoy
it. We even had a complaint from the room next door because
the laughter was drowning out their panel.
"The
Gamers" is a tremendous independent movie and you guys should
be very proud!
If you haven't heard back from the Archon staff in charge
of the video rooms, the St. Louis-area crowd loved it. People
who wandered in late were begging the video room staff to
re-screen it later so they could drag friends back to see
it start to finish.
We watched the movie last night with a mix of gamers and non-gamers.
Everyone loved it and thought it was the best thing we've
received. I really think you've nailed your target audience
with this. |
